The Matrix Resurrections

Revisiting the Wachowski's world of the Matrix was a dream job for the team at DNEG. As lead VFX partner, we delivered a wide variety of work for this sequel, covering both the ‘simulated world’ and the ‘real world’ across 723 VFX shots and 22 sequences. The team was responsible for re-creating some iconic environments as well as helping to realise some new ones. 

Director Lana Wachowski trusted DNEG to take ownership of complex FX development for key characters and for crafting fully digital creature performances alongside some complex digi-double work and environment extension work. The team also had a number of fully CG shots to create, including some of the most detailed and complex environments ever seen at DNEG, and also deployed real-time technologies to deliver specific sequences. 

It was an honour for DNEG’s global team of talented artists in London, Vancouver and Mumbai to follow the white rabbit and help ‘resurrect’ this iconic film series.
