The Adam Project

DNEG completed over 350 shots across 8 sequences on The Adam Project, working on everything from time travel wormholes, and digi-doubles, to aerial dog fights as futuristic aircraft hurtle through space. 
 
Some of the biggest creative challenges included: 

An explosive dog fight between two jets which involved a huge environment build, digital tracer fire, and increasing damage and destruction to Adam’s jet. 

The suspense-filled sequence which sees Sorian pursue Adam in his Time Jet as he flees the earth’s environment. In addition to creating a sense of speed and urgency for the action while in a space environment,.tThe team was faced with the challenging job of designing a CG earth model and a CG starfield in which to place the scene, as well as creating the wormhole into which Adam eventually escapes. 

The action-packed car chase sequence, for which DNEG had the tricky task of replacing and building extensions of the forest as well as blending it with the existing plate material. There was also some complex digi-double work that was required with Time Soldiers flying through the forest cutting in between trees in hot pursuit of the pick-up truck.
