Girls & STEAM Virtual Symposium 2020

DNEG & Science World team up to empower the next generation

Are you passionate about all things Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts/Design, and Math (STEAM)?

Then this year’s Girls and STEAM Virtual Symposium is for you!

As one of the event’s sponsors, DNEG is calling all future scientists, inventors and innovators aged 11 – 13!

We believe in supporting and empowering the next generation of STEAM leaders. That’s why we have teamed up with Science World Vancouver once again for their 3rd annual Girls and STEAM symposium, providing workshop and mentorship opportunities to young girls.

WHEN: Saturday, November 7, 2020

WHERE: online / your house!

Join us online for a day full of workshops, mentorship and inspirational keynote speakers from real professionals who are making incredible contributions to the world of STEAM.

Want to know more about visual effects?

Our Trainer Rosie Walker and Animation Lead Arna Diego have put together an amazing workshop for you – giving you an overview of the magical visual effects that we create here at DNEG and how you can bring whole worlds, vehicles and creatures to life. Participate in their workshop on Nov 7th (register for free here) or watch the recorded workshop after the event (link will be made available on this page).

Also make sure to take part in an exciting keynote address from BC’s Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry.

You’ll receive exclusive advance access to specialized STEAM content leading up to the event; access to livestreams on the day of the event; and access to Tech-Up, an online coding, computational thinking and digital skills workshop following Girls and STEAM.
