The largest international conference for the VFX and Animation industries on the North American East Coast takes place in Montreal next week. DNEG is thrilled to be back at Effects America this year again along with several of our VFX experts and our talent acquisition team.
Around 1,500 participants from the VFX and Animation communities are expected to attend this year’s Effects America, which takes place on June 4th & 5th at Marché Bonsecours, in Montréal
During the two-day conference, delegates will to take part in seminars, training workshops and networking sessions. This year, we’ve doubled the number of DNEG presenters attending from three to six.

JUNE 4TH – YOUR TICKET INTO THE VFX INDUSTRY – BECOME A RUNNER (PANEL DISCUSSION)

Candace Wheeler, DNEG’s Resource Manager, will join a panel discussion composed by artists and supervisors to talk about the best ways to launch a career in the VFX industry.
JUNE 4TH – FIRST MAN: THE PRODUCTION AND IN-CAMERA FX OF AN EPIC BIOPIC (PREMIUM CONFERENCE)
At: Marché Bonsecours – from 1:30pm to 2:30pm
Multiple award-winning industry veteran and Executive Producer for DNEG TV in Vancouver, Michelle Eisenreich, will present on the VFX of ‘First Man’ ( Winner of DNEG’s 5th Oscar for Best Visual Effects). She will talk about how the show used a blend of visual effects, special effects, NASA archive footage and scaled models to create an authentic 1960’s documentary look.
JUNE 4TH – AUTOMATIZATION: SOLUTIONS FOR AN INTERNATIONAL VFX STUDIO (EXPO CONFERENCE)

2D Compositing Supervisors, Romain Bouvard and Remi Martin, will approach one of the most important challenges within a global facility: how to develop automation that works well with multi-site workflows and how to build toolsets for artists that enable them work in a distributed fashion.
JUNE 5TH – ENHANCING VFX ON TV SHOWS, FROM CHALLENGES TO EPIC RESULTS (PREMIUM CONFERENCE)

DNEG Montreal’s Head of FX and winner of the 2019 VES award for ‘Outstanding Effects Simulations in an Episode’ Xavier Lestourneaud presents DNEG artists create high-end cinematic effects for TV.
