DNEG Animation Brings An XL Lasagna-Sized Series of Presentations to Annecy 2024
This June, the one and only Garfield is making his way to the prestigious Annecy International Animation Film Festival, and DNEG Animation is pulling out all the stops to help make it an event to remember.

From Comic Strip to Feature Animation: The Garfield Movie

Join Animation Director Jason Boose and VFX Supervisor Freddy Chaleur as they walk us through the creative process of bringing Garfield off the page and onto the big screen.
Based on Jim Davis’ beloved comic strip, The Garfield Movie follows the world-famous, Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat, in a wild outdoor adventure! After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father – scruffy street cat Vic, Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist. Directed by Mark Dindal, DNEG Animation animated and Prime Focus Studios co-produced the film with Alcon Entertainment.

As if that wasn’t enough Garfield goodness, the festival will also play host to the highly anticipated French premiere of The Garfield Movie, complete with French subtitles to ensure every “Je déteste les lundis” rings out loud and clear. Catch the French premiere on 11th June and because we know you can’t get enough of the mischief, watch him again on the 12th June with a chance to meet the crew who brought Garfield to life on the big screen.
