DNEG 360 & Dimension Collaborate With Group Effort Initiative to Launch ‘Rise Up’

A NEW UK-BASED PRODUCTION ASSISTANT TRAINING PROGRAM FOR UNDER-REPRESENTED COMMUNITIES

We’re thrilled to announce ‘Rise Up’, DNEG 360 and Dimension’s partnership with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s Group Effort Initiative (GEI)!

GEI, launched in August 2020 by Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, is dedicated to helping members of under-represented communities gain real-life experience in the entertainment industry. We’re excited to be partnering with them on ‘Rise Up’, a production assistant training program giving UK residents from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to receive in-depth, hands-on professional experience working on-set at our new cutting-edge, multipurpose virtual production complex in London!

Trainees will have the opportunity to meet filmmaking professionals on a number of exciting projects, including Animal Friends, an upcoming live-action/animation hybrid comedy currently in production at DNEG and co-produced by Legendary Entertainment, Prime Focus Studios, and Ryan Reynolds’ production company Maximum Effort.

On the ‘Rise Up’ program, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively shared:
“We are genuinely inspired by the UK’s creative community and proud to partner with Dimension and DNEG 360 on the ‘Rise Up’ Initiative. Teaming up with the best-in-class partners, we’re able to help trainees master cutting-edge virtual production technology and showcase the future of storytelling.”

Anna Lakshmi Sabapathy (Chief People Officer, Dimension and DNEG 360) said:
“We are incredibly excited to host and sponsor the ‘Rise Up’ program in collaboration with GEI. We have an incredible team of talented staff who are thrilled to share their realtime and virtual production expertise with future trailblazers. The partnership represents our commitment to nurturing under-represented talent in the entertainment industry and championing authentic stories, now and in the future.”

Carl Gist (Producer, Dimension and DNEG 360) added:
“In alignment with our dedication to expand access and foster a more inclusive workforce, we couldn’t be more excited to bring this program to a new generation of diverse talent.”

The ‘Rise Up’ program kicks off this August. We can’t wait to welcome our first trainees soon!
